Seminar on educational opportunities and perspectives in China

On 17 January 2025, a seminar organised by Jēkabpils State Gymnasium with the Jēkabpils Regional Municipality Education Department and the Asian Studies Department of the University of Latvia introduced local youth to education and study opportunities in China, including the training, scholarship and camp programmes offered by the Confucius Institute of the University of Latvia.

Prof. Pēteris Pildegovičs and Prof. He Dong, the Institute’s Latvian and Chinese directors, gave a presentation on the poetry of the Tang and Song dynasties. RISEBA University, the China Education Association for International Exchange, the “Longevity Alliance Baltic” Competence Centre, Vocational Secondary School “VICTORIA” and Riga Secondary School 34 also presented.

Prof. Valdis Segliņš, head of L.C.F.A.’s Education Department, represented the association at the seminar, presenting its activities and goals to the students, and how young people can get involved.
