A heartfelt cross-cultural evening at Zaķumuiža Library

A heartfelt cross-cultural evening at Zaķumuiža Library!
On April 23, we celebrated UNESCO Chinese Language Day together at Zaķumuiža Library and embarked on an exciting journey into the world of Chinese language and culture.
We learned:
- That Chinese is one of the oldest languages in the world
- The diversity of Chinese cuisine and dining etiquette
- The peaceful significance of the tea ceremony
- Traditional clothing that reflects centuries-old values of aesthetics and identity
- Vibrant festivals that unite families and communities across China
The event took place in English with translation into Latvian, so everyone could participate and feel welcome.
Thank you to Zaķumuiža Library and all visitors for the warm conversations, questions, and genuine interest!
Cultural differences do not divide us; instead, they enrich and bring us closer together.
